Rito Family

While it is commonly stated that Rito N Bar is the original source of the Rito family, the great Rito Family Bloodline finds its most concentrated origin in the year 1940 with the birth of Eliminator 5 of Bordulac. Rito N Bar, born March 17, 1960, is linebred 4 times to Blackcap Revolution through his sire, Eliminator 302.  Eliminator 302 is linebred 2 times to Eliminator 5 of Bordulac, born April 26, 1940.  Eliminator 5 of Bordulac is linebred twice on both sides of his pedigree (4 times) to Blackcap Revolution who is linebred twice through Formosa of Portlethen, born May 7, 1865 to Duke of Wellington AAA Registration No. 294. Rito N Bar is the sire of RR Rito 707. RR Rito 707 is linebred 8 more times through his dam to Blackcap Revolution, for a total of 12 times.  RR Rito 707 is the sire of Rito 707 of Ideal 533 70, who is the maternal grandsire of Band 234 of Ideal 3163, better known as The Band 105 Bull. The Band 105 Bull is without question one of the most influential progenitors of the Rito Blood.

The Band 105 bull is well known for his great daughters and as the sire of QAS Traveler 23-4 and Tehama Bando 155.  Two other bulls tracing directly to the blood of The Band 105 Bull are Rito 9J9 of  B156 7T26 born October 29, 1979, and Scotch Cap, born March 5, 1982.  

QAS Traveler 23-4, born February 1, 1978, was the first direct son of The Band 105 Bull to have a major impact on the Angus breed siring 8,867 daughters with recorded performance in the Angus Herd Improvement Records (AHIR).

Tehama Bando 155, born September 9, 1980, is linebred to the blood of Rito 707 of Ideal 533 70. He has had tremendous impact on the Angus Breed with recorded performance in the AHIR  through his 4,906 daughters and many high-performance, well-balanced bulls, including Bon View Bando 598, Leachman Right Time, GAR Precision 1680, BCC Bushwacker 41-93, Bon View New Design 878, Bon View New Design 1407, SAF 598 Bando 5175, BR Midland, GAR Retail Product, CA Future Direction 5321 and GAR Integrity.

Rito 9J9 of B156 7T265, born October 29, 1979, is linebred to Rito 707 of Ideal 533 70 and traces back to Blackcap Revolution at least 24 times. Rito 9J9 is well known for his 976 daughters with recorded performance through the AHIR including Rito 5H11 of 1B14 Rito 9J9, possibly his most famous daughter of all. Another female famous for high-performance and influenced by the great female sire Rito 9J9 B156 7T26 is GAR Precision 2536 who is the dam with the highest sale dollars for progeny sales in Angus history at over $7,000,000. GAR 2536 is sired by GAR Precision 1680 whose sire is Tehama Bando 155 and whose maternal grandam is by Rito 9J9. Schearbrook Shoshone Family
Schearbrook Shoshone, born February 7, 1971, is the result of some very heavy linebreeding tracing back in the American Angus Records to the American Civil War in the year 1861.  His sire Beaufort of Wye traces to the bull Ellmore of Ballindaloch at least 12 times; 9 times through his dam and 3 times through his sire.  Shearbrook Shoshone’s dam is linebred on both the top and bottom of her pedigree to Blackcap Revolution whose paternal grandam traces back to Formosa of Portlethen. Formosa of Portlethen’s Dam is Frances, born February 14, 1861, and sired by Duke of Wellington, American Angus Association Registration No. 294. Shearbrook Shoshone, is well known for his major impact on the Angus breed through his 3,634 daughters with recorded performance in the AHIR program. stemming from the great maternal sire Schearbrook Shoshone are AAR New Trend, B/R New Design 036, PJM Powerpoint, Leachman Prompter and TC Dividend 963.  All these bulls were the result of crossing Schearbrook Shoshone to the Band 105 bull (i.e. "Rito" bloodlines), and are found in the pedigrees of some of the most productive and influential females of the breed such as Leachman Erica 0025 the dam of Leachman Right Time; Leachman Lass 1004, the dam of Leachman Prompter;  Rito 5H11 of 1 B14 Rito 9J9, great grandam of GAR Expectation 4915; BR Royal Lass 7036-19, the dam of BR Midland; CA Miss Power Fix 308, dam of CA Future Direction 5321 and many others.
